Benemens is a product operated by Tackon Technologies LLC ("Tackon Technologies," "Benemens," "we," "us"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with our online giving platform, including the giving page, donor portal, recurring giving, and organization dashboard (collectively, the "Platform").
Benemens is used by churches and nonprofits ("Organizations") to accept and manage donations from their own supporters ("Donors"). This policy addresses (a) information we collect from Organizations and their authorized staff, and (b) information processed on behalf of an Organization about its Donors, which we handle under our agreement with that Organization.
Benemens applies encryption in transit and at rest, authentication and authorization controls, and audit logging across the Platform. Card details are tokenized through PCI-compliant payment processing and are never stored by Benemens in plain text. Access to Donor data is scoped to what each Organization's own staff role requires.
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the Platform, meet audit and regulatory retention requirements, and in accordance with the retention terms agreed with each Organization.
We do not sell personal information. Mobile phone numbers and other information collected for text messaging (SMS) are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We share information with subprocessors and infrastructure providers (including our payment processor and email/SMS delivery providers, strictly to deliver the messages an Organization's own Donors have opted in to receive) strictly as needed to operate the Platform, and with regulators or law enforcement where legally required.
For our text messaging (SMS) program specifically: message frequency varies by Organization and by campaign, and message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. If you are a Donor giving through an Organization using Benemens, requests regarding your personal information can be made through your Donor portal, or by contacting the Organization you gave to, who controls that data. Organizations may contact us directly for platform-level data requests.
We may update this policy as the Platform or applicable law changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
